WINTER APPLE AND DRIED FRUIT CRUMBLE PIE 🍎With the winter holiday season right around the corner, there is no better time to prepare pies. The combination of fresh apples and dried fruit creates a filling that’s crisp, soft, and chewy, and is a nice change from a traditional apple pie. The dried fruit absorbs some of the apple juices, helping to dry out the filling naturally and give the rehydrated fruit a delightful flavor.
I made a very thin pie crust and layered it with a few almond flakes at the bottom and then filled it with apples along with chopped dried figs and dried cranberries. You can add walnuts and raisins to this apple crumb pie to make it even dreamier!🥧
Instead of a crust cover, I topped it with some crumble for a lighter pie.
Recipe: apple pie from an earlier post with the new additions as mentioned above 🙂
