KOSHA MANGSHO ~Bengali Style Spiced Slow Cooked Mutton Curry ~♨️
There is nothing like a sumptuous mutton curry to take you through the day.
Bengali Kosha Mangsho is a delicious spicy Bengali Mutton Curry which is full of flavors from mutton, spices and mustard oil. Bengali cuisine came to my life, because of one good Bengali friend and I was always eager to try a few of the favorites in my kitchen.
.
This recipe is inspired from the cookbook by Kankana Saxena Playfulcooking – “Taste Of Eastern India”. I followed her directions to a tee including slow cooking the meat and the resulting dish is a finger-licking and delicious curry. The mustard oil really brings out the flavor of the curry.
.
For this curry, you will need whole spices such as –green cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, dry red chillies and bay leaf.
Other set of ingredients that are required for this delicious curry – onion, ginger, garlic, tomatoes, Bengali garom masala, lemon juice and water.
.
I served it with with steamed rice and Kashmiri onion chutney, , which is equally kick a$$, simply made with sliced onions that are marinated in vinegar, roasted black cumin, dried mint and red chili powder.
