KOFTAS WITH TAHINI, POTATOES AND ONIONS🌟This recipe is inspired from Falastin by sami_tamimi and tara.wigley calls for beef and lamb but I usually substitute red meats with white meats in my recipes. I had minced turkey on hand and turkey worked so well in these koftas.
This is our lunch today, a potato and meat casserole Palestinian style🇵🇸 We ate them right off the pan. Love these clever recipes!!
It’s a one pan oven bake dish; potatoes and koftas are baked first and then a sauce made with onions, Greek yogurt and Tahini is poured over. Then the dish gets a final bake and all the flavors from caramelized onions, herbal koftas and tahini sauce come together and this made my house smell delicious. I love the combination of herbs and aromatic spices with meats, and added terragon🍃 with parsley🌿. Besides the main spices, I added a tablespoon of Baharat spices to koftas- a spice mix with cumin, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg and turmeric♨️.
This is my first entry to the . This month club is cooking through various recipes of Falastin and this is exactly what I am obsessed with since the day I got the book. My version of the recipe is below. So many new spices and awesome recipes to try!
